Motel 6-San Simeon, CA - Hearst Castle Area

It’s affordable for a deluxe room with an ocean view. Very spacious with a more modern interior. It was easy to make a reservation, and you don’t get charged until you check in. You can also cancel your reservation free of charge, a few hours before your scheduled check-in. Checking in was easy. The front desk guy was very welcoming and informative. Explained things very well. Found our room without a problem, as per his instructions. There was a mini-fridge, a humongous television, a dining table big enough for 4 people, and 2 chairs. I also liked that the bathroom was clean and had enough towels for 4 people. I also liked the parking area. Plenty of spots!

Nice location and beautiful area

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the room was nice and spacious. There was plenty parking and it was nice to have a dip in the pool. If you want a budget option in the area this place is great. There isn't much in San Simeon itself but it is right off Highway 1 and the hotel is really good value for money. We came to stay here as a last minute decision as my daughter is obsessed with zebra and we heard that there is a wild zebra herd in the area. We woke up early and saw 48 zebra right next to the hotel travelling in a herd with some cows and buffalo. The manager was happy to explain to us where we were most likely to see them and said that he'd call if they saw them from the hotel at any point.

We like how close it is to Hearst Castle. We liked the close restaurants. We liked the clean, uncarpeted floors and the tall toilet. We also liked that we were allowed to check in earlier than 3:00.

The hotel was clean and the staff was amazing; super friendly and helpful with everything. The food in the adjacent restaurant was delicious as well. The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to the beach and a few minute drive to Hearst castle and elephant seal beach. You can't beat the price and the service. Will stay here again if we're ever back in the area
